"Not for beginners. A typical old world baboon tarantula that takes no prisoners. Certain specimens will throw a threat pose if you simply approach it’s enclosure, and will happily stand and fight, attack and bite anything that gets too close, so great care should be taken when working with this species as a bite would be most unpleasant and is suspected to have similar venom to the Pterinochilus murinus (Orange Baboon Tarantula, Illegal in South Africa), which is known to cause severe cramping and pain many days after being bit."
